3 a.m Eternal

It’s 5:58 am and I’ve been up with my youngest, Rose.

All. Night. Long.

We’ve been walking the hallways, rocking, singing and everything else you do to lull a babe to sleep.

Oh, I forgot about the cursing. Not directly at my child, but at pretty much anything else. Walking, rocking, singing and cursing. Please go the F*&K to sleep!

(**Do not click on the above link if you are squirmy about the F-bomb. But DO click on the link if you have no shame).

Unfortunately, Rose has not slept through the night in basically two years. I really can’t think about it too much or I get a little depressed. Not complaining. Just stating the facts.

I always find myself singing songs to my children that just pop into my head. Madonna’s “Holiday” is a favorite, Lisa Loeb “Stay”–I know every single word.

But…this little gem came out of NOWHERE  this morning and I definitely started to laugh at myself.  Obscure? Absolutely.  Awesome? You bet your sweet 90’s tush it is.

Does anyone else remember this song??? Listen to the lyrics. Yes, KLF…3 am does feel E-T-E-R-N-A-L.  Perfect little club jam for sleepless Mothers. No one wants to be up at 3 am. It totally feels eternal. Right? Cheers to all my 90’s Mamas out there that now experience a whole new meaning to “3 am Eternal” that has nothing to do with clubbing.

What’s in THAT Bag?

Happy NEW Year! I’m really looking forward to 2017.

Naturally, I’m going on a diet (that will last two days) and hell-bent on getting myself organized. The latter is more important than the first (who needs to be fit anyway!). However…me and the ladies at Louette are obsessed with CYCLE BAR these days. read more…

In the shop we have gorgeous planners and calendars from Rifle Paper Co. I feel like there are two types of “planner people”–1. electronic 2. paper (old-school)–I‘m definitely OLD SCHOOL.

I love my iPhone but I really need something tangible to keep everything organized. Its a visual-person thing.

I ran into the shop this morning to get some work done (with baby Rose in tow) and snagged our floral planner. I love it! Cheers to a less-messy, more organized, on-time 2017 (fingers crossed).

{Here some other things that are ALWAYS in my bag!}

  6. Beauty Counter Lip Sheer in NUDE Perfect for the natural, non-makeupy look.

  8. Paw Patrol The obsession is real. If you don’t know what PAW PATROL is…consider yourself lucky. Apparently parents like, Reese Witherspoon know of the PAW PATROL craze too! You’re not alone.

I do my best thinking sitting on the floor or running.

This past week as I was sitting on the floor thinking and planning our annual Holiday display. I found myself referencing my weekly read of Blogs to get the creative ideas flowing.  I realized how lucky we are to live in a world where creative ideas can be shared instantly, over continents, countries and cultures. I love stumbling upon great Blogs. On this small little island (even though we can practically swim from HHI to the mainland–it is still an island), we can seem isolated from the “real world”. It’s awesome that we can remain in our “little bubble” and step out when we choose through social media.   Creative minds seek creative ideas and I have found some of the most amazing ideas through the blogs that I read.

Here are Links I am LOVING this Fall:

1. I am always looking for ways to dress up my veggies. Oh She Glows is my “got-to” Blog for tasty and amazing veggie recipes. One of my favorite Louette Ladies from Canada recommended this blog to me last Spring. This one caught me eye:  Crispy Smashed Potatoes with Avocado Aioli YUM!

2. In case you have been living under a rock, Humans of New York (HNY) is one of the most gut-wrenching, heart-warming and honest pieces of photojournalism around. Although HNY has been around for quite some time, I could lose hours upon hours looking at these posts. They are fascinating to me.

Whenever I visit my family in NYC I rehearse what I will say when I am approached. I envision myself sounding very wise and looking chic in my all-black NYC outfit. But…I have never been approached and probably would say something that would result in a slew of hate mail. I will leave it to the experts…the true New Yorkers!

3. I am s-l-o-w-l-y moving away from working out in a XL T-shirt from college and old sweatpants. Realzing a few years ago that the better I feel in my workout clothes, the better the workout–I started following Yoga In Heels. YIH features awesome products and solutions for updating your workout wardrobe. Donna (YIH Editor) is always on the forefront of new trends–my favorite read this Fall CLICK HERE.

4.  Mommy Shorts. A bunch of Mamas or Mombies parody Michael Jackson’s Thriller with a spot on dance sequence. Enough said, you just need to check this out….CLICK HERE.

5. Bloglovin’

Bloglovin’ has been around but I just recently discovered it. I love that you can get a snapshot of great blog posts and follow all your favorites in one spot. The best part? You can follow Louette Lifestyle on Bloglovin’.
